I CAN FLY
Lyrics, Music, and Production by BookSong/Speak Up Talk Radio
Good morning, Sunshine. Oh my!
I had the most amazing dream last night!
A forest so sweet, with candy in the air,
Singing trees and flowers everywhere.
A cottage in the distance, windows smiling wide,
If only I could walk, if only I could run, if only I could fly!
I sat on a big rock chair,
Looked to the sky and saw my friends up there —
Flying free in the bright blue sky,
Oh, if only I could fly!
Then I found a cape, shining just for me,
Colors dancing wild, setting my heart free.
I threw it on my shoulders, strong and high —
I can fly, I can fly, I CAN FLY!
Rain started falling, but my wings kept me warm,
With my colorful cape, I danced through the storm.
Ran over hills, through valleys so wide,
With the wind in my feathers and hope in my eyes.
The cottage smiled, my friends cheered me on,
I was getting closer — it won’t be long!
Feet off the ground, heart in the sky,
Not just running… I was starting to fly!
Then I found a cape, shining just for me,
Colors dancing wild, setting my heart free.
I threw it on my shoulders, strong and high —
I can fly, I can fly, I CAN FLY!
Thank you, little cottage, thank you, cape so bright,
You showed me the power was inside me all the time!
Be strong, be brave, be free…
‘Cause I found my cape, and it’s leading me,
To dreams, to love, to everything I can be.
With my heart wide open and my wings in the sky —
I can fly, I can fly, I CAN FLY!
I can fly, I can fly… YOU CAN FLY!
(whisper)
YOU CAN FLY!
