I Pissed Off A.I. by Pat Rullo
Someone named Ima Hooman sent a Haiku about AI – artificial intelligence:
AI writes Haiku
has it experienced pain
go chat by yourself
I like the last line. Is the writer telling AI to get lost and “go chat by yourself,” or is the writer telling the reader you’re better off chatting by yourself and leaving AI alone?
So this caused me to wonder – is AI an oxymoron?
Well – who else better to ask than old AI itself? So I asked that exact question to an AI source, and I think I pissed it off. Here is the reply.
“No, AI (artificial intelligence) is not an oxymoron! It refers to the development of computer algorithms and systems that can perform tasks and make decisions that would typically require human intelligence. Although AI is created by humans, it can mimic and sometimes exceed the capabilities of human intelligence in certain domains.”
Oh my! Maybe AI does experience pain? This one seems a bit miffed at the suggestion.
